yeah baby.....:-)

My hand therapist did a nerve test today and it showed a 25% improvement in my hands! Several other tests showed that therapy is actually helping......which is obviously good news :-)

Mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas and this is what I said......

Put a smile on your face......:-D

Where were you when the lights went out......?

.....I was actually sitting on the couch doing a sudoku :-] Yes, we lost our electricity last night around 7. It's finally beginning to look like winter outside with a few inches of snow on the ground.....however all the beautiful snow brought along some nasty wind that knocked the power out. So what does one do when the electricity goes out? Well, if your name is Kristin you would.......

Watch movies on your portable DVD player until the battery dies
Read your book by light of a candle
Creep yourself out by walking around the dark house carrying a candle......it was the perfect scene for a 'haunted house' movie :-]
Wish you could remeber where you left your flashlight.....I found it in my car this morning. Oh yeah, thats where I left it!
Thank God for electricity......

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

"To say that it happened on Mulberry street..."

I've seen some strange things in the past few days. Some made me laugh, others made me take a second look.....

1). I was on my way to work today when I saw an Amish man driving a truck. That was strange enough but I laughed to myself when I pictured a pair of horses pulling a Ford Pick-up :-]

2). I ate lunch with Grandma Rosina, Jaime, and the kids today. When Eli thought I wasn't looking he leaned over, took a french fry off my plate, licked the ketchup off and returned the fry to my plate. He then checked to make sure his crime had gone unnoticed and licked the ketchup off of about 3 more of my fries before his mommy caught him :-]

3). This one makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time --- Our Christmas tree fell over about 3:30am Sunday morning :-0 At that hour of the morning it was quite upsetting to see the decorations that you had just put on the tree covering the livingroom floor. I like to decorate Christmas trees but once a year is plenty for me

4). Eli decided that the best place for his toothbrush was up his nose......

5). The dish washer cut his thumb on a knife at work tonight. He decided that putting hot sauce on it would stop the bleeding...however, it just made it look like he was doing the 'Holy Spirit dance'. :-]

Hand Therapy

In my next few blogs I am going to be telling a little about myself---just so you know a little bit about who I am as you are reading.
I'm sure I will be mentioning hand therapy on here at some point so I will explain why I make such frequent trips to the hand therapist. A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with "Raynauds Syndrome". With Raynauds, when your brain tells your body that its cold the nerves in your hand react too severely....basically cutting off the blood supply to your hands. This results in sore hand/finger joints, dry skin, and redness. I had been trying special creams but gave up with those when they stopped working. I did some research and found out that there is no cure, and not many doctors have looked into it.
However, I found a therapist close to home who is very interested in Raynauds and was more then willing to see what he could do for my hands. Over the past few weeks I have been doing experimental therapy called 'anodyne light therapy'. We weren't sure if it was going to help but...well, you decide..............

This is my hand about 1 1/2 years ago. Its kinda hard
to tell in this picture but they were extremely red and dry.

This is my hand today, about 6 hours after therapy!
I had been praying for a long time that I would find
something to help my hands. I'm giving God the credit
for finding hand therapy! :-]

The eyes of a toddler

Ever wonder what a shopping trip looks like from the eyes of a toddler?.......

11:00 "I wish this train was in the middle of the mall all the time! I love shopping!"

12:00 noon "I should have stayed home with Uncle Wray. I don't understand how they can be having so much fun when we haven't had a snack yet........*sigh*"

2:00 "3 hours of shoppin' and I still don't get it......are we done yet?"
