In Memory

I wish I didn't have a reason to blog tonight. But I do.....

When I got back from the funeral home last night ( Grandma Hazel ) there was a message on the phone from my friend Lacey. She sounded upset so I called her back quickly. She did not have good news.....
Our friend, Jeni Rempel, was killed in a car accident early Sunday morning.

Jeni and I became friends when she joined the homeschool group I was apart of (about 8 years ago).
Lots of memories and fun times.....but the sadness in my heart is still to fresh to list them now.
Pray for her family, who just lost their 19 year old daughter. (It was just a few years ago they lost their older daughter to cancer.)

Jeni Rempel

You have many friends who are missing you already, Jeni!
We love you

"A confluence woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday on Listonburg Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police.Jeni Jonae Rempel was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., and was listed in critical condition after the accident, police said.Rempel was driving a 1988 Buick when she reportedly lost control of the car and drove off the roadway into the south berm, causing the vehicle to become wedged between two trees. A passing motorist observed the vehicle at about 3 a.m. and saw that Rempel was unresponsive in the passenger side."

Thank you for your sweet comments on Jeni's behalf. This is Larry and Vicki Rempel, Jeni's parents and have just come back home after several days away due to our family tragedy..

Our situation is one that no family ever wants to have to face. But our
beautiful 19 year old youngest child/daughter Jeni was in a car accident on
Sunday morning 5/18/08. We have been at the hospital in Morgantown, WVA
standing with her and hoping for the best inspite of serious head injuries
she sustained. The excellent medical ICU team/neurological doctors gave us
very little hope, but still did radical treatment to see if they could save
her. By Monday afternoon, all the treatments were ceased and the final
tests were given to determine if there was any blood flow to her brain, but
was negative. She wanted to be an organ donor and her decision has
hopefully saved four people in Pittsburgh, PA who received organs from Jeni
early Tuesday morning.

Jeni's siblings are already arriving from as far as
Taiwan, California and Seattle. Her other family members are coming from
Ohio, Minnesota and other places arriving Wednesday and Thursday and staying
through the weekend.

Her celebration service is on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 1 pm at
the United Community Church of God in Ursina, PA. There will be an open mike for those who would like to make comments, bring meaning, share scripture or share a thought or memory about Jeni.

In lieu of flowers, we are setting up a memorial fund in Jeni's name that will administer scholarships for young
people for evangelical youth events, mission trips, and young adult ministry schools.

This memorial
fund will be through the Foundation for the Alleghenies and our local church as listed above.

Send checks made out to United Community Church of God with "Jeni Rempel Memorial Youth Fund" in the notation.

Jeni's Family/Friends in Morgantown, WV

Our hearts and prayers are with you. My Kirstin poured her heart out last night, remembering times with Jeni that I had forgotten; prom dress shopping here in Morgantown, jumping on the trampoline with little Daniel and feeding the catfish on the farm. When she said "Mama, I just want to hear her voice again," my already torn heart broke.

To Larry and Vicki - Our paths in life keep crossing. I thank God for having been blessed by knowing and loving you, my prayers are with you.

To Jeni - You are loved, now and forever.

If I wait until next week to comment I may forget this and I don't want to: With everything that's happened, in about a week, death tries to take stage. But, it isn't death! The two lives lost are truly begun now. And a new destiny has already been born inside of your sister. Life is prevailing.

Kristin,

I came to your page from a link on Jaime's page, to read more about your great-grandmother, who I know you lost last week. I was shocked to see that you had also lost a very dear friend, and so young. I just wanted to say that I am truly sorry for your loss, and that I will be praying for you, and Jeni's family. I don't know your friend Adam, but what he said about life after death is right on! It's so important to remember that your friend, and your grandmother, are in a place better than we can even imagine, while you are hurting and mourning her loss on earth.

God Bless,

Elizabeth

I found this page after searching for the name of the girl who's car accident I came across at 2 in the morning. I just want to say that although I am not from the area, and I never knew her. I still think about her all the time.

I wish I could've done more.
